I chose a sightseeing tour, but families will find plenty to keep their children amused as well.
Beach goers will love the sunbathing locations in Ogunquit because it is a coastal town. There are, however, museums and other interesting attractions to keep you occupied.

Walk Along Marginal Way
A seaside cliff walk along the Marginal Way is one of the top things to do in Ogunquit, Maine. This is one of the most calm and tranquil spots to visit, and it’s a great way to spend a hot summer morning.
You’ll be greeted with stunning views of the ocean as you walk. There are more than thirty-five benches throughout the route where you may sit and enjoy the scenery.
Consider bringing a picnic to enjoy approximately halfway during the walk for an amazing experience!
Marginal Way connects Ogunquit Beach to Perkins Cove, a local village. One of the great spots to visit near Ogunquit, Maine, is Perkins Cove, but I’ll get to that later.
The fact that Marginal Way’s whole walk is paved appealed to me. This makes walking easier, especially for the elderly or little children. It is also possible to bring a stroller here, making it an excellent family outing.
If you go, don’t forget to bring your camera! The views of the water are spectacular, and you’ll even see a lighthouse, which makes for a great photo opportunity!
Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse
Maine is famed for its gorgeous lighthouses along the Atlantic’s rocky shore, and the Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse is one of the best examples.
Built in 1879, this beautiful and historic lighthouse has an adjoining red-roofed home and outbuildings that provide a stunning and scenic outlook.
Cape Neddick Nubble Lighthouse, built of cast iron and brick with a tower height of 41 feet, is still in service today, providing light on the gloomy seas to assist ships in returning home.
The lighthouse and its grounds are currently closed to the public, however a visit to nearby Sohier Park affords a great perspective of this magnificent monument.
Play Golf
Wonder Mountain Fun Park is a terrific way to have some outdoor fun, even though it is actually located five minutes outside of Ogunquit. The golf courses are the park’s primary attraction! There are two of them, with each having eighteen holes.
If you’re travelling with children, this is a great method to keep them focused and entertained.
In addition to the golf courses, there is a go-kart track and an arcade with amusing activities.
Prices are reasonable, and there is generally a $5 offer for playing the second golf course after paying for the first. That’s less than half the cost of just one round of golf on the first course.
Go To Ogunquit Beach
As I previously stated, Ogunquit is a seaside town, so what better way to start than with a list of the top beaches?
The beach at Ogunquit is three and a half miles long. That means you’ll almost certainly be able to find a private space for you and your friends or family. I had no issue finding a suitable location for us to spread out our towels.
This town’s namesake beach is highly popular, and it is usually packed. It is a family-friendly establishment with well-kept toilets. Swimming is safe here because the waves are small.
The beach is great for sunbathing and making sandcastles, but there’s a lot more to do. Beachgoers appear to appreciate water activities such as kayaking, surfing, and body boarding. The water is both safe and warm at times, so it’s no surprise that people come here.
It’s only natural to begin your trip to Ogunquit with a day at the beach. New England is known for its beautiful shoreline, and it would be a shame to miss out. I discovered that the water is normally rather chilly, yet it is still enjoyable to swim on warmer days.
Go To Footbridge Beach
Although I am a natural traveller, I am not always fond of crowds. Of course, I had to visit Ogunquit’s famous namesake beach, although it was extremely crowded. And it was then that I discovered Footbridge Beach, a hidden gem.
Footbridge Beach is accessible through a footbridge, as the name implies. It’s on Ogunquit’s northern outskirts, and it’s noticeably quieter than Ogunquit Beach. You can enjoy the view without the throng at Footbridge Beach because of its tranquil and serene ambience.
It is possible to walk from Ogunquit Beach to Footbridge Beach if you have seen and experienced Ogunquit Beach. You simply keep heading northeast. This region is less crowded and quieter. You may still swim, sunbathe, and take in the sights along the coast.

In Ogunquit, the Bald Head Cliff is an excellent spot for a sunset view. Grab a bite to eat at one of The Cliff House Resort’s restaurants and settle down for the sunset! The restaurants are open to anyone who is not staying at the resort.
The Cove Bar and Grille, The Tiller Restaurant, Bald Head Coffee Company, and Nubb’s Lobster Shack are just a handful of the restaurants at The Cliff House. They’re all fantastic options, but Maine’s seafood is especially delicious!

Finestkind Scenic Cruises is a popular boat cruise option in Ogunquit, Maine. There is something for everyone there. The picturesque Ogunquit shoreline can be enjoyed by boat. Guests onboard will learn everything there is to know about the local lobster trade. While onboard, you might even get to observe lobsters being caught! You’ll also get a look of the harbour seal population in the area.
Sightseers, on the other hand, might prefer the beautiful trip to York’s Nubble Lighthouse. This is one of Ogunquit’s most gorgeous sites and well worth seeing.
I recommend phoning ahead if you are booking a boat trip or cruise. Because the weather might have an impact on these journeys, it’s wise to be prepared.

The Abacus Art Gallery is one of Ogunquit’s many boutique shops and is well worth a visit on a cold winter day. It’s a great chance to see some local art while getting the most out of your vacation.
Wonder Mountain Fun Park

This park is only a five-minute drive from downtown Ogunquit and is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Maine. The Wonder Mountain Fun Park is only open on weekends and is, as the name implies, a fun place to visit.
This park will be a hit with the kids. There are go-karts that can be driven at breakneck speeds around a course. Children aged twelve and up can drive their own go-kart. There are, however, two-seater go-karts available, and the passenger must be at least four years old. This is one of the top family activities in Ogunquit, Maine.
Another popular feature at the park is the Human Maze, which appeals to both young and old. It’s always changing, so you can try your hand at something new every time you go. It’s a maze filled with obstacles and difficulties, but there’s no way to become lost or stuck.
Visitors to the park can also try their hand at mini-golf or play in the arcade. There is so much to do here, in my opinion, that it demands a day trip, so plan accordingly.

The Ogunquit Heritage Museum is a must-see for history aficionados. It’s located in the Dorothea Jacob Grant Common Park, inside a lovely 18th century Cape-style mansion. Because admission is free, there is no reason not to pay a visit.
The mansion is interesting enough on its own, but it also houses a fantastic collection of antiques. It conveys the tale of Ogunquit’s history and legacy, as well as those of the neighbouring environs. There are records, art, and historical artefacts to look at.
If you appreciate ancient houses as much as I do, you’ll be happy to learn that the house still retains its original fireplaces, floors, and panelling.

The Playhouse puts on around five different shows throughout the course of a 21-week season. From May until October, the season is open. They put on a show every night from Tuesday through Sunday during this time. It’s the great weekend indulgence!
On the bill, you can expect to see both new works for the stage and oldies. Billy Elliott, Grease, and Mary Poppins are just a few of the shows that will be on the stage. They are, however, very focused on developing new works for the stage, so be sure to look into that as well.
Bread and Roses Bakery

When I travel, I usually try to support local companies, and you won’t be disappointed with this bakery. Although they are known for their quiche, I chose a breakfast sandwich on a croissant. It did not let me down. My excursion to Ogunquit was completed with a late-afternoon tea at this bakery. Their blueberry sour cream coffee cake was delicious, and I recommend that you try it.
This delightful bakery will steal your heart, and it’s the best place to go for breakfast or afternoon tea. They offer a diverse menu and may even accommodate special events. If you’re planning a trip that includes a birthday or other special occasion, be sure to look into their catering choices.
The Cliff House Resort

This is undoubtedly one of the city’s most attractive spots. It’s also one of the most refined activities in Ogunquit, Maine. I strongly advise staying at the Cliff House Resort for a few nights. It is one of the most desirable lodging options in Ogunquit, Maine. It’s worthwhile to take advantage of their opulent accommodations.
The resort is situated atop a beautiful cliff, as its name suggests. The ocean below is visible from this great location, which provides amazing views.
The resort also features a spa with a variety of treatments as well as a large outdoor hot tub with a view of the sea.
Take a bite to eat, or stay for a few nights. You will not be dissatisfied, regardless of your pick. I did not stay at the resort, but I did pay a visit and had a great time. It comes highly recommended from me.
Barnacle Billy’s
I went to Maine with only one thought in mind: lobster. Maine is known for its lobster, and visiting the state without trying the local food is a must. Barnacle Billy’s is Ogunquit’s best seafood restaurant. Of course, they’re famous for its lobster, and I wanted to try it for myself.
I went there for the dinner rush and was pleasantly pleased by what I found. Lobster comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. I went with the typical boiling lobster in its shell, buttered. They do, however, serve lobster stew and lobster rolls. Clam chowder and steamed clams appeared to be other popular choices.
This location is legendary and has hosted various notable figures in the past. They’ve been in business for more than half a century, and I believe they’ll continue to grow in the future.
The cuisine was excellent, and there is patio dining near the ocean. This means you’ll be served dinner with a stunning view!
Visit Portland

Ogunquit, Maine is roughly one hour away from Portland, Maine. Being in Maine, they are also known for lobster, and it is a cultural and economic centre.

I recommend taking a day to see everything Portland has to offer.
